Weekday Devotionals - Samantha

"Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
— 1 Corinthians 15:58 (AMP)

Tithing, when done with the right heart, becomes a vital part of evangelism. It is a way of
participating in God's mission, ensuring that His word goes forth, that needs are met, and that His kingdom grows. But it's not just about finances—it’s about the heart behind the giving. Are we using our resources to see the lost reached and the poor cared for?

When we tithe, we are not simply giving to support the work of the church—we are investing in the kingdom of God. Our financial gifts fund evangelistic outreach and community service efforts that spread the love of Christ both locally and globally. In our church, through the generosity of tithes, we’ve been able to bless schools (14!), support local ministries, such as, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and No Longer Fatherless and provide essential help to families in need. Internationally, our giving supports missionaries in Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, and India, where lives are being transformed by the gospel.

You may wonder, “What if I can’t afford to give?” or “Does my small offering really make a
difference?” The truth is, God doesn’t measure our gifts by size, but by the sacrifice and love behind them. Every tithe—no matter how big or small—adds to the work of evangelism. When we give with a willing heart, we are helping fulfill the Great Commission. Our gifts have eternal impact, far beyond what we can see.

Tithing is not just about keeping the lights on in church; it’s about fueling the mission of God’s kingdom, locally and globally. When we give, we become partners in His mission to reach the lost.

How can you overcome any doubts or fears about tithing and use your giving as a step toward actively participating in God’s mission to evangelize the world?
